The Cologne Graduate School in Management, Economics and Social Sciences (CGS) provides the framework for doctoral education in the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne. It is characterised by interdisciplinary research beyond the confines of management, economics and social sciences, and has therefore been setting itself apart as one of the few such graduate schools worldwide for over ten years.
CGS offers four research-oriented doctoral programmes with a duration of three to five years. These programmes ensure rigorous doctoral training and their structure promotes the exchange of research ideas and methods across the three disciplines, encouraging students to achieve excellent results in their own research areas. Students pursue rigourous research themes in their dissertation that is relevant for scientific progress, for organziations, policy makers and society.
We offer a friendly, supportive and stimulating research environment with internationally recognised researchers.
The doctoral programme at CGS ideally prepares graduates for academic positions at leading universities and research institutions around the world.
