Profile
The Cologne Graduate School in Management, Economics and Social Sciences (CGS) provides the framework for doctoral education of the entire Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne. Founded in 2008, it has established itself as one of the few graduate schools worldwide that is distinguished by a high degree of multi-disciplinary research across the fields of management, economics and social sciences. We offer a friendly, supportive and stimulating research environment for doctoral students which creates the ideal conditions for lively and open-minded exchange as well as individual progress in research.
With a large offering of courses, the CGS doctoral study programmes in management and the social sciences and the PhD programme in economics provide rigorous training in theoretical foundations and empirical methods as well as their application to business, public policy and societal problems. We support our students in their dissertation work with our extensive internal and external research network, generating ample opportunities for the exchange of ideas and for collaboration. We provide work spaces, financial support for conference participation and other research expenses, as well as a carefully designed supervision concept.
There is no tuition fee. The CGS offers a range of funding options to cover living expenses during your doctoral studies.
